Meera Sanyal, a former banker who joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in 2014, died on Friday at the age of 57.AAP announced the news on Twitter.We are deeply saddened by this loss, @meerasanyal a good heart has stopped beating, a good soul ascended to heaven. May she rest in peace! #RIPpic.twitter.com/LGGygwQmHi— AAP (@AamAadmiParty) January 11, 2019Sanyal, the former CEO & chairman of the Royal Bank of Scotland in India, contested the Lok Sabha elections from an AAP ticket in 2014.Her book criticising demonetisation, The Big Reverse: How Demonetization Knocked India Out, was published in November 2018.Manish Sisodia, AAP leader and deputy CM of Delhi, said in his tribute on Twitter that India had “lost a sharp economic brain and a gentle soul”. Other AAP leaders also condoled Sanyal’s death.
